WALSH William John (Billy) Passed away October 13, 2017 aged 81. In Orewa, New Zealand. Husband of Carolyn, father of Mark and Claire, grandfather to Eva and William. Late of Cross Roads.

This is an absolute first for me.
I don't think I ever felt such sorrow for a man I have never met, but today it happened.
I found out today that Bill Walsh who left Cross Roads in body but never in soul at 17 had passed away after suffering ill health for sometime at the age of 81.
This chap has been so kind to me over the last year or so, giving me photos of the village and telling me history and stories that were not only fascinating but also on many occasions made me laugh.
He even wrote me into his life story which I am honoured to be a part of.
Sorry I never met you pal and tonight I will raise a glass in your honour.
Another true roadie gone but never forgotten.
Deepest condolences to Carolyn and his family.
