Bingley St Ives’ William Whiteoak was a convincing winner of the Bradford Open yesterday at Shipley. Rounds of 72 and 70 for a level-par 142 gave the Haworth golfer the title by five shots from Baildon’s Ian Martin, who returned 74 and 73.
His success saw him complete an impressive double, having won the Bradford Amateur Strokeplay Championship earlier in the month.
Third was professional Nathan Stead, who finished on seven-over 149 (76, 73).
