A Haworth B&B has been declared the best in the village by a leading travel website only six months after opening.

Wilsons of Haworth has been ranked number one on Trip-Advisor after receiving a string of five-star reviews by customers.

Forty-nine out of 51 visitors have rated the bed-and-breakfast in West Lane as ‘excellent’.

The other two rated the venue, run by Martin and Dale Wilson, as ‘very good’.

Wilsons opened at Easter after the couple – who previously both worked in education – bought the long-established Weavers Restaurant and converted it into accommodation.

They refurbished existing rooms and created a further two.

The premises was given a four-star accommodation rating by both Visit England and the AA within weeks of opening.

The Wilsons have since played host to guests from Australia, Japan, South Korea, US and several European countries.

The couple are delighted with the current ranking on Trip-Advisor, a leading review site for hotels, restaurants and holidays.

Dale said: “The rankings of TripAdvisor are based on the quality of comments posted by our guests after they stay with us.

“People have been very generous with their praise, and have remarked upon the quality of facilities and service.

“There are some excellent places to stay in Haworth, so competition is stiff and we are over the moon to be top of the league.”

She added: “Since opening, bookings have increased steadily. The summer was far busier than we expected, as is the run-up to Christmas as people flock to Haworth for the Victorian Christmas events.

“Certain times of next year, including the 1940s Weekend, Bronte Society AGM week and the Tour de France weekend, are already fully booked, with waiting lists for cancellations!”
