A KEIGHLEY couple have opened a new holiday home business on the outskirts of the town.

The first phase of the Cragg Hill Holiday lets venture, which is called The Old Piggery, was formally opened this month (August) by Keighley East ward councillor Doreen Lee.

The business, based at what used to be Lower Kirkstall Wood Farm off Woodhouse Road, is run by Jo and Stuart Currie, who live next to the site.

Commenting on the opening event Mr Currie said: "Even though it was a breezy day there was a good turnout and a lot of interest. Councillor Doreen Lee did the honours of cutting the ribbon.

"The Old Piggery is a three-bed well-equipped holiday cottage, which started off as a block-built shed with approximately 26 sowing pens.

"We demolished the existing building and rebuilt, making the most of the views over the Worth Valley, Haworth, and beyond.

"We're already taking bookings, and we're having a good amount of traffic to our website at cragghillholidaylets.co.uk"

He said the second phase of the business, which has already been constructed, will be a two-bed holiday property called The Old Hen Shed and a one-bed cottage called The Old Corn Store.
