A FIREWORK display company is on cloud nine.
Optimum Fireworks, based at Riddlesden, has won a coveted crown.
It took the honours in a Firework Champions contest, held at Broughton Hall.
The company was the first from Yorkshire to compete in the event.
Each entrant staged a ten-minute display, choreographed to music. An audience vote then decided the winner.
"It was a tough competition on the night – we were up against two other teams which put on great displays – so it meant even more to take the title," said Philip Cooper, who runs the business with partner Rebecca.
The company has just finalised plans to present the Bolton Abbey estate's fireworks show next month (Nov), together with regular bonfire events at venues including the Dog and Gun, Oxenhope.
It is seeking recruits to join its team for the peak period. E-mail displays@optimum-fireworks.co.uk for further information.
