A STEETON sheep farming family has notched-up a hat-trick of championship successes in a prestigious contest.

The Fort team, from Brighton House Farm, took the top title for the third year running in the Lleyn Sheep Society annual registered show and sale at Skipton Auction Mart.

Graham Fort – chairman of the North & East England Lleyn Sheep Breeders Club – was joined by his wife Mandy and their children, Terry and Beverley, who run their own pedigree Lleyn flocks.

They scooped the honours with shearling ram Brightonhouse Classy, sired by the 2012 Welshpool champion and bought by the Fort family two years ago.

The champion was then sold to D&SK Crane, of Thirsk.

Three pens of shearling ewes were also sold by the Forts, to a trio of different buyers.

Lleyn Sheep Society promotions officer, Heather Stoney, said: "This was the final society sale of the year and we certainly finished on a high."
