A CARE group with homes in Steeton and Cross Hills has become one of the first providers in the UK to introduce new measures to help keep vulnerable residents safe.
Czajka has joined with the Alzheimer's Society and West Yorkshire Police in the initiative.
Herbert Protocol is aimed at preventing vulnerable residents going missing and helping the police and other relevant authorities intervene as soon as possible where incidents do occur.
Konrad Czajka – managing director of the care group, whose homes include Currergate at Steeton and Beanlands, Cross Hills – said: "We always try to achieve a balance between offering an unrivalled level of care and maintaining our residents' independence across all our homes and thankfully incidents of people going missing are extremely rare.
"However it's always good to be prepared for the worst case scenario so it made sense to join this scheme."
