IMPROVEMENTS at the Turkey Inn at Goose Eye have helped win it the Pub of the Season award from local real-ale fans.
The Keighley and Craven branch of CAMRA voted the popular hostelry the best pub in the area for the winter season.
Branch secretary Fred Baker presented the award to licensees Mark and Heather Shelley at a ceremony attended by pub regulars and CAMRA members.
During the presentation, Mr Baker hailed the Turkey Inn as a good community pub, and said many locals had returned in recent times and received a very friendly welcome.
Mr Shelley said the pub managed to constantly offer 10 different real ales because their customers enjoyed such drinks.
He praised Jack Atkinson from the Goose Eye brewery who had been very helpful when he and Heather had started up.
The Turkey Inn, a member of CAMRA’s LocAle scheme, regularly features ales from Goose Eye, Timothy Taylors and Great Yorkshire.
CAMRA members have particularly praised the pub’s sympathetic refurbishment, which reproduced the feature windows, and the improvements to the riverside garden area.
