DISCOUNT retailer Poundstretcher – which has a store at Keighley Retail Park, in Hard Ings Road – has reported record Christmas trading.
The company, which has 409 UK outlets, saw total sales growth of 14.8 per cent in the five weeks to December 30, driven by a ten per cent rise in like-for-like sales.
It attracted more than seven million shoppers, a ten per cent uplift in footfall on a year earlier.
Ian York, for Poundstretcher, said: "We presented products in store a lot better than in previous years and we are bringing in extra footfall with our food and toiletries offering.
"We've got smashing offers that drive people into stores and then we pick up incremental sales."
