KEIGHLEY shopkeeper is holding a charity day to raise money for children undergoing heart surgery.

Natalie Stead will host the Valentines Fair to raise money for the Children’s Heart Fund at Leeds General Infirmary.

Natalie runs the Something Peculiar curio shop in the historic Royal Arcade on East Parade in Keighley.

She sells unusual items, oddities and antiques, as well as her home-made jewellery and parts and crafts made by other people.

Natalie said: “My shop is in a lovely old Victorian place that has so much character.”

Natalie said she wanted to help the Children’s Heart Fund because she knew a little girl who had been treated there, and Leeds General Infirmary did not receive as much money as some other good causes.

The Valentines Fair will be on February 7 at the arcade, at a time to be publicised, and will feature several stalls, including some run by fellow Royal Arcade shopkeepers.

Local band We Are Atlas will perform.

Natalie is also running a fundraising raffle, selling tickets at her shop. She would welcome donations of prizes, particularly those that are “bizarre, unusual or curios”.
