KEIGHLEY retail outlets could win recognition for their efforts.
A Best Small Shops competition has been launched, and Keighley MP Kris Hopkins is urging businesses to enter.
"This is a terrific opportunity for small shops to win well-deserved recognition for their hard work to serve the community and create new jobs," he said.
"I would encourage retailers in Keighley to submit their entries.
"It would be wonderful for the entire business community here if a local shop could win this prestigious competition."
The contest – promoted by the All Party Parliamentary Small Shops Group and Independent Retailers Confederation – covers criteria including innovation, community engagement and entrepreneurial activity.
Entrants are asked to explain in up to 500 words why they feel they should win.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a House of Commons reception on February 25, when the winner will be announced.
The deadline for applications is 4pm on January 30.
