A CONONLEY shop described as a "hub for the village" has new owners.

Simon and Janet Little, who have lived in Canada for most of the last 14 years, have taken over running Cononley Post Office.

The couple have lived in various places, including South Africa, New Zealand, Spain, Nigeria and Swaziland, where they met.

Janet said her cousin Julia Leuty and husband Eddie, who live in Cononley, had told them the shop and post office were up for sale.

"Cononley has always been a village we liked, and it is kind of fate that we ended up here," she said.

The Littles are taking over a business which has been much appreciated by villagers.

One resident. Joan Nicholson. said: "It's a real hub for the village, providing vital community links as well as being a very handy local amenity."

For the past ten years it has been run by Marion Wilcock.
