ARGOS has opened a digital store within Sainsbury's at Keighley, creating 12 jobs.

It is one of ten such outlets opening at branches of the supermarket giant across the country this summer.

The new Argos store, which covers 1,100 square feet in the Cavendish Street premises, is in addition to the town's existing branch at Cooke Street.

"It's great that we can now bring our very latest stores to customers conveniently inside their local Sainsbury's supermarket," said Argos branch manager Suzanne Thomasson.

"We are delighted to welcome new colleagues to the business and have received a very warm welcome from the Sainsbury's team as we work together to ensure customers have the best experience of this partnership.”

Jason Le-Roche, the Sainsbury's store manager, said the new venture provided a complementary product offer and convenient shopping for customers.

He added: "We are looking forward to feedback from customers about the increased range and offer."

Argos says about half of its total sales now start online, but 90 per cent of customers still visit a store to collect their goods.
