A KEIGHLEY company is backing a solo yachtswoman taking on a trans-Atlantic challenge.
Lizzy Foreman is competing in the 4,020-mile Mini Transat race, from France to the Caribbean, starting on September 19.
And Kiravans, an online Volkswagen campervan parts retailer based in Dalton Lane, is helping kit out the vehicle which will be her home prior to the event.
Company director, Mike McCandless, said: "As money is in short supply for young racers like Lizzy, she wanted to do her own van conversion which, considering the amount of work she does on her yacht, should be very easy by comparison.
"Her determination to succeed in a sport she loves so much, and the fact she has to be incredibly self-sufficient and single-minded, meant we really had to help her."
Lizzy, 25,said she is grateful for Kiravans' backing.
