A KEIGHLEY man has joined a development consultancy firm after being recommended by a friend.
Luke Smith has been recruited as a senior developer at Scott Logic, in Newcastle.
The 25-year-old received a referral to the firm from his former housemate Jack Arnstein, a graduate software tester.
The pair met while both studying at Newcastle University.
Mr Smith, a former pupil of Oakbank School in Keighley, initially pursued a career as a civil engineer but had dabbled in software for years.
"Scott Logic sounded like a great place to work and to be honest I missed working in software," he said.
"I used to do a lot of games stuff when I was younger, like writing add-ons and modifications."
Mr Arnstein, 28, received a cash bonus and was able to choose an office 'treat' for making the recommendation.
"Luke's multi-talented and I knew he'd fit in really well at Scott Logic," he said.
