A STEETON company has been rewarded for 'raising the bar'.
Acorn Stairlifts took the top accolade in an annual awards scheme for its impact in the region.
And the firm won particular praise from judges for its long-time support of Manorlands.
It is a major backer of the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
Acorn scooped the overall title in West & North Yorkshire Chamber's Raising the Bar Awards, which this year attracted a record number of entries.
"When we looked back at the past 12 months we were pleasantly surprised at what we have achieved and are delighted to be recognised," said company secretary Dave Belmont, who collected the award in a ceremony at the Northern Ballet, Leeds.
"As a medium-sized business it is easy to stay in your own bubble but we have made a conscious effort to make a positive impact on the local community and environment, plus creating jobs for every level too.
"We were very proud to pick up the accolade. This is an award the whole team will treasure."
