CLOTHING giant Damart – whose warehousing operation is at Steeton – is helping park rangers keep warm this winter.

The company has provided 22 sets of thermal wear, including long johns and tops, to outdoor staff working for the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.

Alan Hulme, the authority's head of ranger services, said: "Our rangers work outside all year round and in all types of weather looking after 2,300km of public rights of way and open access land.

"We are grateful to Damart for providing clothing that helps us with our vital work.

"I'm sure our relationship will go from strength to strength – in fact we are already talking about what things we could do together in the future."

Damart's senior customer experience manager, Ben Phillips, said the firm was delighted to support the authority.

He added: "We have a strong affinity with our local area and are really pleased to help the authority and its work towards conserving our beautiful national park."
