A CRAVEN veterinary surgery has been awarded the profession's top accolade for its service to pets and their owners.

Kingsway Veterinary Group has been accredited with veterinary hospital status by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for offering the highest level of excellence.

The award which recognises their round-the-clock care and continuous investment in modern technology, is given to practices which meet the top standards in delivering care to animals. Any practice in the UK is currently allowed to use the term ‘animal hospital’ but only those with the Royal College’s certification can be termed veterinary hospital.

Partner Ian Crowe said staff, who had undergone rigorous inspection, were thrilled. “We are delighted to receive what is effectively the gold standard of the veterinary profession.

"Being part of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons accreditation scheme gives extra assurance to pet owners looking for a practice to treat their animal and in the long term will drive up the overall standards of veterinary care..”

The practice had been providing veterinary care in Skipton and its surrounding areas for more than 70 years. As well as its Kingsway surgery, it operates a farm division from Skipton Auction Mart and has branches in Silsden and Cross Hills.
