A DEVELOPER behind a controversial planned housing scheme in Keighley has announced soaring profits.
Persimmon Homes last year saw a 34 per cent increase in pre-tax profits, to £637.8 million.
And full-year revenues rose by 13 per cent, to £2.9bn.
Wayne Gradwell, managing director of Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, said: "It was an excellent year for the business.
"The results are a total team effort and we were delighted to deliver vital new homes across the region.
"This year looks set to be even busier, with developments ongoing and new homes planned."
Last October, Persimmon gained government approval to build 124 houses in Occupation Lane, despite objections from residents and Bradford Council.
A government inspector disputed objectors' claims that traffic from the new houses would cause dangers in nearby streets.
