MORE than 50 businesses across the district have now received awards from a healthy food initiative launched three years ago.
The Good Food Bradford Project – a partnership between the council, West Yorkshire Trading Standards and participating outlets – encourages businesses to use healthier cooking methods and ingredients and introduce other measures.
Bronze, silver and gold awards are up for grabs.
A project officer provides recipients with free training and support.
David Lodge, head of West Yorkshire Trading Standards, said: "The Good Food Bradford Project encourages local businesses to provide healthier options, pushing the drive to reduce health inequalities within the district."
Councillor Val Slater, chairman of the Trading Standards committee, adds: "The awards are a great opportunity for food businesses to take advantage of free support and training to provide healthier options for their customers."
