KEIGHLEY brewery Timothy Taylor has a new finance director.
Chartered accountant John Varley has taken over after serving in a similar post at Sheffield-based printer Polestar.
He succeeds Steve Drinkwater, who has retired after 20 years.
Mr Varley was born and brought-up in Skipton, where he attended Ermysted’s Grammar School.
He then achieved a first-class honours degree at Newcastle University before starting out on his accountancy career with KPMG.
His latest appointment has been welcomed by Taylor's chief executive, Tim Dewey.
He said: "We set ourselves a tough task to find a replacement for Steve Drinkwater – who has given such excellent service to the company – but we are delighted to have found John, particularly given his local roots, and look forward to welcoming him to our business and our board."
