A BRADLEY pub which has researched what makes a "perfect tasting pint" says its findings show it is not just the contents of the glass that count.
The Bay Horse, part of the Vintage Inns pub group, says ingredients also include a comfy seat and good company.
The research, which questioned 500 regular pub visitors on what factors influence their enjoyment, found the most important was the pub atmosphere, with over two thirds of respondents ranking it highest.
Fifty-eight per cent claimed it was the company they shared that made a difference, ranking the taste of the pint second.
Vintage Inns spokesman Juliet Oosthuysen said: “Although a good tasting pint is hugely important, our research showed there are many other factors that contribute.
“Almost a third of people said they enjoyed a beer more when they felt like they'd earned it – for example after a long walk or a hard day at work."
