PARALYMPIC cyclist David Stone has visited a Keighley motor dealership to show off his latest medal haul.

He called at the Colin Appleyard Nissan showroom with the accolades won in Rio.

David, who was appointed Appleyard's official Nissan ambassador two years ago, took bronze in the T1-2 men's time trial and silver in the road trial.

"Rio was an amazing experience and to win two medals was more than I expected as the standard of cycling this time was so much higher than in previous Games," he said.

"Since I got back I've hardly been on the bike. Instead I've been having a bit of a break from training and reflecting on what I achieved in Rio."

He added: "I know it's a long way off, but I definitely want to work towards trying to get to Tokyo 2020.

"In the short term, though, I've got the world championships next year so I'll be aiming for that.

"I certainly wouldn't be able to achieve what I do without the support of everyone around me, including Colin Appleyard Nissan. I'm extremely grateful for all its help."

As part of his role with Colin Appleyard, he has had use of a new Nissan Qashqai.

In return, he has made a number of personal appearances throughout the promotional period.
