A NEW paperless system has boosted efficiency at a growing Keighley manufacturing company.

Teconnex implemented the Epicor enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to update its processing of parts orders.

The firm has a catalogue of 8,000 parts and adds about 20 new ones each week.

"Office-based work processes traditionally tended to be paper-based but with an ambitious growth strategy we needed to digitise our ways of working," said Daniel Topp, head of IT at Teconnex.

"Realising how vital it was for the company to streamline its internal processes and improve customer services, we decided we would need to undertake a major software overhaul.

"Our ageing IT and manual processes were holding us back."

He added that benefits were seen virtually overnight following the implementation of EPR and that more time could now be devoted to expanding the company's operations overseas.

"We have managed to half the process time and save a vast amount of work hours per week," said Mr Topp.

"This increased efficiency has allowed us to cut the time it takes to complete processes by between 50 and 75 per cent and also improve customer service.

"It has freed up our time to focus on planning for further international growth."
