A KEIGHLEY company has launched a German-language version of its website as part of an export drive.

Online VW campervan parts retailer Kiravans introduced the move after receiving several orders a week from Europe, mainly Germany.

The new site has already proved a hit.

Overseas sales of the company's swivel seat in particular have received a boost, with a three-fold increase.

Kiravans director, Rob McCandless, said: "For a long time we've been getting a handful of orders every week from various European mainland countries, mainly Germany and mostly for our swivel seat.

"After studying the potential for a German-language-specific site we decided that it would be a wise investment and since its launch sales have increased week-on-week, because German speakers are now more inclined to stay on the site and delve further into it.

"The site is driven purely by search engine optimisation and built into it is a currency converter and delivery calculator, so the ordering process is exactly the same as with our UK site."

He added that the company now had plans for French, Spanish and Italian-language versions of the website, which was built by Leeds-based Vortex Commerce.
