MARTIN Sims has joined Silsden-based Ecology Building Society as chief operating officer.
He will lead the growth of the ethical finance specialist’s sustainable mortgage and savings operations, as well as develop support for community-led housing.
Mr Sims has more than 30 years’ experience in retail banking and the building society sector.
Latterly he worked for the Co-operative Bank, where he held senior mortgage, distribution and network operations roles.
He previously served with the Royal Bank of Scotland and HBOS.
“I am delighted to be joining the team at Ecology,” said Mr Sims, whose appointment follows the retirement of George Haslem.
“I’m looking forward to playing a key part in the future success and development of the society and helping to ensure it continues to meet the needs of all its members.”
