STAFF at a Crossflatts company have donated clothing to help women who are escaping from difficult home lives.

More than 120 items were collected by workers at the Croft Road premises of financial services firm, Computershare.

Donated goods ranged from jackets, shirts, dresses and suits to handbags, tops, belts, shoes and tights.

The haul has been handed over to Together Women, a charity which creates safe places.

And employees at Computershare’s Skipton office have donated 200-plus items to Leeds Women’s Aid, which provides drop-in centres, outreach services and access to safe accommodation.

The collections were staged to mark International Women’s Day.

Helen Campbell-Woodrup, a legal assistant at Computershare and one of the collection organisers, said “These charities do really important work and all of us were pleased to help those in our local community who need clothing.”
