A CAKE shop company which began with one store in 2008 but expects to have 50 outlets by the end of this year is celebrating its presence in Keighley.

Eggfree Cake Box, in High Street, will stage an opening day in its premises at 11am on May 26.

The event will be attended by Keighley's town mayor and will also feature performances by dhol drummers, free soft drinks and – of course – a wide selection of cakes on offer.

The Keighley branch of the business is staffed by Adeeba Shafiq, Hajra Khan, John Willkinson and Laurie Kennedy.

Adeeba said: "It's a great honour for us to share our customers’ most important occasions, and we pride ourselves in delivering first-rate customer service.

"All our products are 100 per cent egg free. The founders of Eggfree Cake Box follow a strict lacto vegetarian diet, and that is how they came up with the idea for the company.

"Although our cakes are egg free, you really can’t taste the difference, meaning it's a safe choice for a party where organisers aren't sure if anybody has any egg allergies."
