CARING staff at home-shopping giant Damart have raised £12,504 to support a confidential helpline for the elderly.
The company, whose warehousing facility is at Steeton, coined-in the cash for Silver Line with a series of activities.
Events included bingo, a customer afternoon tea and sales of Silver Line products.
And earlier this year Damart took part in Silver Week, raising £820 and boosting awareness of the charity, founded in 2011 to help prevent isolation and loneliness amongst elderly people.
Ben Phillips, head of e-commerce at Damart, said: “We are thrilled with the success of our fundraising efforts, as we know this donation will provide vital care and support for the elderly who need a friendly voice and someone to listen.”
