A CARE group has struck gold.

All five of Czajka's care and nursing homes now hold the coveted Gold Standard Framework Accreditation Quality Hallmark Award.

And examples of the group's work are to be used across the sector to showcase best practice.

Currergate in Steeton and Beanlands, Cross Hills, already had the accreditation, together with Brookfield and Staveley Birk Leas at Nab Wood.

Now Fairmount Nursing Home, also at Nab Wood, has joined them.

To gain the accolade, homes undergo a rigorous assessment and staff have to complete an intensive nine-month training programme.

Also, inspectors carry out a review across all areas of care received by residents nearing the end of their lives.

Konrad Czajka, the group's managing director, said: "For all five of our homes to achieve the Gold Standard Framework is a major achievement and demonstrates the high standards that flow throughout our organisation."
