KEIGHLEY Business Club has received an economic update from the Bank of England.

Bank representative Will Holman gave a presentation to club members, following on from a visit he made last year.

Issues covered included interest rates, the value of the pound, inflation and regional and national forecasts for the economy.

Members then had the chance to ask questions related to their own businesses.

Phil Walker, for the club, said: “It was great to welcome Will back.

“With the amount of analysis and interpretation of these economic issues around, it was refreshing to see them all presented in a coherent and clear way and put into a local context.

“We have received some very positive feedback from members who attended.”

There was also a presentation about the Keighley and Airedale Business Awards by Howard Martin, co-chairman of the organising committee.

A launch event for next year’s awards takes place on November 6. For more details, visit keighleybusinessawards.co.uk.
