A PLAQUE scheme has been launched honouring firms loyal to Yorkshire roots.
The Yorkshire Society is celebrating the county's corporate talent by handing companies a stainless steel plaque to go on display at their sites.
First recipient was textile firm AW Hainsworth.
Now the society is seeking more would-be beneficiaries, who were founded in Yorkshire and still operate here.
Society chairman Keith Madeley said: "It has really caught everybody's imagination.
"We have put it out there and people have run with it.
"The project has really gathered momentum.
"We want to see the plaques being given out throughout the county, to celebrate Yorkshire corporate talent.
"Recipients don't have to be 50 or 100 years old or celebrating a milestone."
The Yorkshire Society – formed in 1980 – aims to represent the very best that Yorkshire has to offer for those visiting or living, working or investing in the county. It also generates funds to be ploughed directly back into regional and local communities.
Any firms wishing to be considered for a future plaque can e-mail Mr Madeley at keith@mryorkshire.com or call 07831 159800.
