MEMBERS and players pose before the well-appointed pavilion of Oxenhope Wesleyan Cricket Club, complete with flag, a century or so ago.
Oxenhope Wesleyans at the time stood relatively high in the West Bradford League, finishing in joint second place in both the 1911 and 1912 seasons.
One of their notable players was local preacher Felvus Sunderland, who died in 1969, aged 85. In his younger days he had also played for Oxenhope YMCA, Keighley West Lane, Devonshire Mills, Fell Lane and Knowle Park, once heading the batting average in the Keighley and District Cricket League.
The photograph has been supplied by Mr Ian Brierley, of Bridgehouse Lane, Haworth.
