JUST before breaking up for the summer holidays in 1957, pupils of Utley School invited parents and friends to a concert of mimes, songs and recitations.
The top two classes, seen here in effective Japanese costume, acted two scenes and sang eight songs fromThe Mikado, which proved so successful that they repeated the performance the following Christmas.
The photograph has been supplied by Mr Michael Shearing, of High Spring Gardens Lane, who appears fourth from the left.
