A FEARSOME-looking Santa Claus visits National School Infants in December 1948 and the children happily show off their presents. Also on the picture, right, is Canon Eric Treacy MBE RD who was rector of Keighley at that time. The school stood at the junction of Suresness Road and West Lane from 1835 until 1992 when it was demolished to be replaced by the St Andrew’s Health Centre, with the school moving to its present new building in Mount Street.
