LOOKING like some fairytale ice sculpture, this frozen ornamental fountain in Lund Park was probably photographed during a severe spell of wintry weather towards the end of January in 1912.
Opened in 1891 on land given by mill-owner James Lund of Malsis Hall (hence the adjoining Malsis Road), one of Lund Park’s highlights was this “magnificent” fountain in the middle of a pond. As suggested by the rustic bridge and shrubbery seen here, this part of the park was also pretty.
The photograph has been supplied by Kevin Seaton, of Shann Lane, Keighley.
