ENLARGED from a small battered snapshot, these members of St Joseph's Youth Club at Ingrow were going on a trip to Blackpool in 1951. They are wearing the relatively formal "setting off" dress of the time, all the boys in jackets and most with ties.

The photograph has been supplied by Shirley Cannon, of Banks Lane, Riddlesden, who can identify nearly everybody. The main group, from the left, are Pat Shaw, Rita Tucker, Sheila Pittock, Brian Middleton, Donald Carr, Kathleen Stead, Nancy Logan, Peter Cannon, Jack Lindley, Mary O'Dwyer, Patrick Webber, Maureen and Doris Peacefull and Desmond O'Neil.

Those crouching at the front include Molly Ambler, Mary Butler, Derek and Maureen Cannon and Peter Maddox.

Many older readers will remember youth clubs, with their many activities, as forming an important influence in their development from the middle teens into adulthood.
