KEIGHLEY Parish Church was built between 1846 and 1848.
With seating for 1,400 and designed by the architect of Leeds Parish Church, RD Chantrell, this was the third church to occupy its site in less than half a century, its predecessors having been demolished in 1805 and 1846 respectively.
The clock in the tower was given by parishioner Joseph Greenwood in 1903 in celebration of his seventy-fifth birthday.
On the right, the Lord Rodney, formerly the Old Red Lion, is Keighley’s oldest public house.
This photograph probably dates from 1904, during the laying of electric tram-lines in Church Street or, as it is more popularly called, Church Green.
