When the Knowle Park Congregational Mission choir planned a trip to Morecambe and Windermere in 1920, they met at six in the morning – though in the event they only got as far as Morecambe due to charabanc breakdowns!
That same summer of 1922 the staff of the Cosy Corner Picture House went to Richmond, and the Keighley Arts Club to Malham. However, the Victoria Park Veterans’ choir opted for old-fashioned horse-drawn waggonettes to Otley Chevin, where they entertained visitors to a Clarion Camp.
