THIS bucolic scene was photographed earlier last century in the hamlet of Holme House, between Goose Eye and Slack.
Holme House remains a tiny rural community which our ever-spreading Keighley has not yet absorbed.
The 1850s Ordnance Survey shows a compact town surrounded by hamlets where now there are suburbs like Ingrow, Fell Lane, Exley Head and Bogthorn.
Oakworth used to comprise the several distinct communities of Sykes Head, Lidget, Oakworth Hall and Lane Ends.
This photograph has been supplied by Mr Kevin Seaton, of Bradford Road, Riddlesden.
