FOUNDED by Ernest Cobley and Raymond Cockshott in the 1960s, the Bridge Street ironmongers Cobley and Cockshott are displaying their wares outside their shop in 1973.

The firm still follows this tradition, but no longer with such potentially pickable-up items as forks and spades!

The photograph was taken by the late Harold Horsman.

He died in 1990.

Mr Horsman was an associate member of the Royal Photographic Society, and was active for more than half a century in the Keighley and District Photographic Association.

During a period of dramatic changes in Keighley, he set himself the task of recording scenes on the point of redevelopment, together with a broader survey of shops, schools, churches and farms.

Some of the images now circulating unacknowledged on the internet may well be his.
