BEFORE I began my nursing career I had a job as a delivery driver – driving around East Anglia, every day, often needing to find new addresses.

Some places were in the middle of nowhere. Yorkshire is not the only county with isolated spots!

We had no sat navs, only two-way radio connecting with base.

Occasionally I found myself at a crossroads with no signposts and no one around to ask. Which road should I take? Sometimes I got it right and sometimes I didn’t.

Often people describe their lives using the word journey. Cradle to grave, situations, experiences and occasional crossroads or places where a decision was needed.

Jesus' birth on earth was a time of travel and journeys. Born in Bethlehem, because his parents travelled there for census. After several months taken on overnight to Egypt, his life in danger from King Herod, concerned a rival king had been born nearby.

Later, as Jesus preached and healed, he was often travelling.

He had tough decisions to make at times, crossroads, where he could decide to please people or his Father God.

Perhaps you’re at a point of major decision in your life journey. You don’t know which path to take? The best thing is to ask Jesus to guide you and help you.

Baby Jesus born in that stable at Bethlehem is Saviour of the world. He will take your hand, guide you and give you peace. Stop at your crossroads and take a good look at who Jesus is this Christmas. Take the right path with him beside you.
