IT'S come to something when even Keighley's own senior policeman knows no more than anyone else about what's happening with the town's police station!
The startlingly honest admission from Inspector Khalid Khan has to be admired.
But it poses serious questions about what on earth our West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Mark Burns-Williamson, is doing.
Two, long years have now passed since it was first revealed the future of the Royd Ings Avenue building was under threat.
The closure of the cells, relocation of CID officers to Bradford and reduction in opening hours at the site were fairly good indicators of where the thinking was heading.
Yet still, the public, politicians and seemingly police officers themselves are constantly fed the standard line that the future of the police station is "under review".
Of course we have the assurance that a police base will be retained in the town.
Most people probably now accept that provision has been diminished to such an extent at the existing Airedale House premises, moving to a smaller, alternative site would make financial sense.
So how long do we have to wait for answers?
It's time our PCC came clean over the issue.
And if he doesn't have the answers after two years, that begs another question!
