PEOPLE from across the Keighley district have shown once again that when their generosity is tested, they come up trumps.

There have been several shining examples in the past week alone of caring moving up to another level.

Thousands of pounds were raised by schools, businesses and individuals through a raft of activities on Red Nose Day.

Supporters of Silsden cancer battler Sally Major rallied round and dug deep in their pockets to enable her overseas treatment to continue.

And then on Sunday, more than 1,000 people of all ages and abilities took part in Keighley's BigK 10K run and walk, raising an estimated £38,000 at least for our local Sue Ryder hospice.

The community's kindness never ceases to amaze.

Keighley, we salute you!
