RE BRADFORD Council selling off one of the former Keighley College buildings to the Utley Centre – Old college sale ‘close’ (Keighley News, January 15).
Absolutely no foresight whatsoever.
Rest assured this place will have its usage changed somewhere down the line and eventually the building and its occupants will blight/tarnish the town centre.
If Mantra House can’t half fill their place with businesses, while charging near peppercorn rents, how on earth do they expect to fill that place?
This will end up as an Islamic education centre or another mosque.
Also, parking is massively inadequate for the size of the building, given its central position. How will that help traffic flow through Keighley?
The best thing they could have done is flatten it and make the town centre an attractive green space. The town needs some colour.
I fear Keighley is going the same way as Bradford. Then nobody will visit the area. Bad day for the town.
