HAVING now stood down as a town councillor, may I thank sincerely the 3,500 electors of Oakworth ward whom I have been proud to represent for the last 13 years.

They were kind enough to elect and re-elect me in 2002, 2003, 2007 and 2011 and I have always tried my best to further their interests on Keighley Town Council.

I am happy to look around the village at the 20mph speed limit, the re-located post office in the Co-op, the Police & Community Contact Point, the children’s play area in Holden Park, the additional grit bins and the Windsor Road bus shelter, all of which are examples of where lobbying by Oakworth ward councillors — and/or funding by Keighley Town Council — made these small but significant developments possible.

Thank you, the electors of Oakworth ward, for your trust and your support.
