WE AT the Sangat Centre wish to assure all Keighley people that we condemn Daesh (ISIS) for their cowardly attacks on innocent and defenceless Paris citizens and visitors on November 13.
Peddling fear, hate and violence is not the Islamic way. Our religion is one of peace and we value the UK’s freedom to practice our religion.
These evil attacks were horrific, and we condemn them in the strongest possible way for their distorted attempt to use Islam as justification.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones and with all those suffering injury.
At this difficult time, we extend the hand of friendship across the town to reassure Keighley people that true Muslims follow the path of peace and friendship, and not the path of those responsible for violence and extremist views.
In saying this, we reflect the expressed views of all major Islamic organisations in the UK and the majority of Islamic believers.
