I NOTE with interest a start has been made on the demolition of the iconic former Keighley College building.
On behalf of many, many Keighlians, I am asking – through this letter – the powers that be at Bradford Council to save the stained glass.
This is only a small ask but I believe future generations of residents of this part of Bradford will look at and feel a sense of pride in this piece of heritage.
Cliffe Castle Museum might be a good repository for the artefact.
Or is it on Bradford’s hidden agenda to destroy this once jewel in the crown of a town by making another “mess” of a hole? Come on Bradford, do something imaginative!
A lot of people are watching and will give their verdict on the council’s direction once this Keighley landmark has gone – except for those windows!
