BRADFORD'S 'health scrutiny committee' needs to tread carefully round the A-boards in Cavendish Street – Council blasted over bid to ban A-boards (Keighley News, January 12).
The ones in your photo are not placed on any part of the highway, but stand on the three or four feet area belonging to the properties themselves.
Before wasting any of the ridiculous business rates charged on these properties, the health committee might like to turn its scrutiny on the overhead canopy and its condition.
It is, of course, owned and registered as listed by the council and, if safety is a part of the committee's remit, then it should order immediate repairs and maintenance to be carried out, of course, by the owner.
