HERE we go again, Bradford councillors allowing new build on greenbelt land – Housing is approved in face of opposition (Keighley News, February 16).
The site on the greenbelt is just not appropriate. Do Bradford councillors not listen to the Environment Agency's warnings re flooding? Any flood protection on the site would be to protect new houses, so funnelling even more water into the existing village along the station/Mill Hey area.
When are our 'representatives' going to come to their senses and realise the Haworth area is one of the biggest tourist areas in the country, rather than do their best to blight the area with inappropriate development?
They also propose to close public toilets and do nothing to improve the very locations thousands of people come to visit – just look at the mess behind the parish church. It' s a disgrace, with footpaths around the area not maintained, therefore deterring potential walkers.
